Getting the word out

I was serving as an AA volunteer in psych/detox wards in a large general hospital in suburban Chicago many years ago as part of our local Hospitals and Institutions (H&I) committee. One evening I had a conversation with a nurse on the unit who attended a nearby college. He asked if I would speak about AA at his abnormal psychology class, so I said yes. It was my first opportunity to carry our message to professionals. Afterward, the members of our Cooperation With the Professional Community (CPC) committee built on that relationship, and we did more presentations.
