Just the right medicine

In 2014, by the grace of God, I began my sobriety journey. I work at a hospital. When the time came to address my drinking, I was helped by a clinician who clearly understood what alcoholism is and exactly where I needed to go to recover. I later learned that well-trained Human Resources (HR) members worked behind the scenes to intervene and suggest a plan of action for their sick and suffering employee. When I returned to work after getting treatment, our HR team let me know about all the AA meetings near the hospital. I consider the clinician who helped me to be my angel, and every year for more than six years now, I thank her for knowing what to do.
