During the COVID-19 pandemic, many AA members discovered new meetings all over the world on their computers and smartphones. The writer of “My Friends in the Outback” found a new women’s meeting she loved and made AA friends in Australia. She even attended a fun AA conference there and learned new things. “Something changed inside of me,” she writes. “I heard the ‘Step Aside’ prayer for the first time. Now I say it weekly with a prayer buddy.”
