Surrender at the 11th Hour
A former Marine fights the Great War against alcoholism, one day at a time
The Great War, or World War I as we know it, ended at 11am on November 11, 1918. “The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.”Although exact figures as to the casualties are still disputed, World War I claimed the lives of approximately 10 million military service members during the 4 years and 4 months of fighting. The figure doubles when you include civilian deaths.
