Cake Wins (Sometimes)
There are times in recovery that truly suck. Bad news or a really terrible day still trigger a desire to consume something that will take the edge off the tension. I no longer reach for the bottle but I’m still guilty of reaching for something outside myself to ease the discomfort. At the first sign of irritation, the paths most travelled in the neuron pathways of my brain fire up, and before I even realize it, I’m considering what I can put inside my body to make me feel better.
