I was a sensitive child, overly concerned with how I looked and felt. My mom walked me to school on my first day of kindergarten, only for me to return home on my own a couple hours later. The teacher had raised her voice at the class, and I took it personally, so I left at recess. I took a lot of things personally, and still do. I can still be oversensitive after 13 years of sobriety.
