Letter from the Editor
The holidays are a wonderful time to remember our fellow alcoholics who have difficulty reaching us, whether the challenges are geographic, language-related, cultural or for accessibility reasons. This month’s special section on remote communities is dedicated to them. Also featured are some inspiring holiday AA stories from members.
In the story “Closer Than You Think,” a member in Canada with physical challenges shares gratitude for her lifeline to other AAs through her computer and mail. In “A Reach Across the Globe,” quick action and love for service helps a Russian-speaking newcomer in California get connected. And because of a dedicated incoming AA, members secluded in a maximum-security prison in Missouri get to feel a bit of AA love on the holidays in “No Amount of Razor Wire.” Actually, it was a win-win for all.
