My prayer was answered
I would say out loud in meetings that, “God let me down. I went to church and was praying to stop drinking and now I’m stuck here in AA.” Finally a guy cross-talked me.
Like most of us, I knew I was in trouble with alcohol long before I I came to AA. During the last two years of my drinking, I went back to church to pray my drinking away. I’d go to church and just pray about my drinking. Then I’d get home from church and I’d be drinking again. It just wasn’t working.
