Morning Prayer

I’m thinking about what I will do today to enhance my sobriety. Clean house with my wife? Answer calls from my sponsees? Buy a motorcycle? I’m here to enjoy the ride.

When I was drinking, I got good at figuring out what was wrong with people before they could figure out what was wrong with me. It grew into a kind of superpower. I could pick out the negative in anything—anything around me, the government, the world, everything—even people’s sobriety. Everything was messed up, so I had to keep drinking.
