Love in action
I’m sober 56 years now. Due to my poor health, I’m confined to my home, but that doesn’t stop me. I keep this good life going by doing service by phone, email and virtual meetings.
At my first AA meeting in 1965, I felt embraced by the love in the room right away. People brought coffee, held the cup for me and made me feel special. I was shaking, drunk and unsteady. Although I was 28, I had never experienced anything like this outpouring of goodwill before.
