My Steps To Service

Being of service a chore? Not for this grateful alcoholic

When I first walked into the doors of Alcoholics Anonymous, I was very broken. I sat, listened, picked up my 24 hour chip, a member gave me a Big Book and I bolted out the door after the meeting. But I showed up the next night and every night since. I soon learned from listening to other people that just sitting wasn’t going to keep me sober. It took a couple of months for me to realize I was going to have to get involved with my sobriety, but at almost three months I finally became willing to do whatever it takes.
