Decision in the desert
Lonely, angry and exhausted, a newly sober flight operator has a rageful day in hell. Her mission: Step Three
It was 8:00 P.M. and I had just finished most of the post-flight routine after a 10-hour surveillance and reconnaissance mission while deployed somewhere out in the desert. Post-flight duties included turning off all my mission systems, cleaning and bagging up the trash, putting covers on the engines of the aircraft and gathering all my intelligence collected from the mission. I was tired to say the least.
