A Spiritual Awakening in Jail

Today was a very special day for me. I got up early, prayed, and took a shower. I wore my best outfit that I had picked the night before. Today was the day that would speak for the first time at an AA meeting in one of the jail facilities in Los Angeles, California. I met Mitch, the panel leader, outside of jail. Mitch had shared in AA meetings his involvement with Hospitals & Institutions and his personal experiences serving in jails. He is one of the many AA angels I have met in my journey sober that encouraged me to share my gift of sobriety to the incarcerated alcoholics throughout the county of Los Angeles.
