A brand new memorial day
Once a holiday of lying, hiding and heavy drinking, it’s now a weekend he cherishes
Not too many years ago on this day, at the beginning of Memorial Day weekend, I would have been filled with both dread and anticipation. I knew the long weekend was one where I could “hide” a little more effectively (or so I thought) among the holiday party atmosphere and the heavier-than-normal drinking I’d be around, especially at the Jersey shore.
