The agony of relapsing
The writer of “The Day I Unmuted” kept relapsing over and over as she attended online AA meetings. Fortunately, virtual meetings made it easier for her to listen to members share as she struggled to make the decision to stop. “Anything could set me off on a bender: an argument, loneliness, boredom. Even excitement and joy.” Her online AA group gave her some service to do and that helped anchor her.
