Put me to Work

I have not had a drink in more than 20 years. Marty and Bobby of the Victor E. Group were the first admitted alcoholics I ever met face-to-face. They encouraged me to read our Big Book, attend meetings and become a participating member of the group. I did what they suggested, and this helped me establish a relationship with God on terms that made sense to me. I still recall with vivid clarity the first time I sat in a meeting and honestly admitted I was an alcoholic. It put a lump in my throat and I could hardly speak.
