Speaking for Ourselves

It’s OK to share our opinions, as long as it’s understood that they’re not AA’s

I’ve never met an alcoholic who didn’t have an opinion on every issue imaginable, in addition to topics on AA and recovery. Politics, jobs, taxes, healthcare, religion, sports, drugs and medical marijuana are just a few of our interests. Even when not drinking, we are often rowdy, raucous, outspoken, persistent and persuasive. We want to be right and need to be right regardless of the discussion topic. In our enthusiasm, our opinions on outside issues often spill all over the rooms of AA with unpredictable results.
