Staying Afloat
These holes are like my defects of character. I can become willing to patch those little holes. Or I can risk sinking altogether.
In my early days of sobriety, I got my first dose of reality when my sponsor showed up at our AA meeting drunk as a skunk. He explained that everything was going fine. He just caught a cold and took a teaspoon of cough syrup, not knowing that it contained alcohol, and he was off to the races as the obsession took over and yada, yada, yada.
