Awareness: The Other Vegetable
From the age of 12 until my mid-forties, I was unaware of all of the things I was unaware of. It saddens me to look back and see how I didn’t have any idea there was a way of living where I could be at peace and happy most of the time. Introspection was not something I practiced or understood. “Act and react” was the only way I knew, and at the time there was no one in my life to help steer my ship. After losing my father, I stumbled through life using trial and error as a motto. I was always trying to fix one screw-up after another. The answer was always right in front of me, but since I was unaware there was a problem why would I look for a solution?
