Making peace with the past can be rocky, but one thing she can count on—in AA she found home
I stared fiercely at the big hand of the clock, as though watching the minutes tick away would make him magically appear. He said he’d be home by now, but he wasn’t, so my 10-year-old sister finally took charge. Though still a child herself, she cooked dinner for my brother and me and turned the TV to our favorite show.
