Why Would You Do This, God?

That is the question I ponder as I sit in my boyfriend’s hospital room. He’s asleep. It is April 14, 2015. Days before he had been diagnosed with leukemia. The doctor says he hit the jackpot as far as cancer diagnoses go, because this type of cancer has a high remission rate. As thankful as I am for such a positive outlook from a medical professional, I can’t find the same optimism. My stomach twists with anxiety and fear, my head throbs and my heart aches.
