The “fog of drunkenness” dissipated early for him

I came into AA through the court system of Connecticut. I had some familiarity previously; I’d  been to Alateen because I grew up in an alcoholic family. But that did nothing to address my wild side. Having grown up around older people my entire life, never hanging with kids my own age, I was primed to experiment whenever the opportunity reared its head. I stole sips from drinks at my parent’s parties, then started stealing bottles and money to meet the demands of my thirst.
