We Will Not Regret The Past

Accepting the past fully means acknowledging both good and bad

Many of us have lived lives full of shame and remorse for our behavior.  Prior to getting sober, I made choices, and many of them were poor choices, at best; some of my behavior was even criminal.  I do not ever want to repeat those choices or behaviors, and before I became a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, I lived with the shame and remorse of knowing how terrible a person I really was.  I lived in fear that, no matter how nice I pretended to be, or tried to be, someone would find out the secret of who I really was and would no longer like me or be my friend.  Worse, they would spill the beans and tell everyone!
