“God as we understood Him” became the key to his sobriety

I was court-ordered to attend AA meetings. Five days a week, I listened to the stories of other AAs drinking and destroying their lives. I began to identify with their feelings of loneliness, pain and heartbreak. Out of that suffering, my seeds of AA were planted. My life had been headed down a deep, dark path, but now I saw and heard the miracles my new alcoholic friends found in AA. Wounds were healed, lives restored, and I began to see the sense of hope I might discover in this new Fellowship.
