What I know today that I didn't know when I walked through the doors of Alcoholics Anonymous over 30 years ago was that I had a three-fold disease of the body, mind and spirit. I also didn't realize until much later that Alcoholics Anonymous had a three-fold solution for this disease: Recovery, Unity and Service-the Three Legacies. Upon hearing this for the first time as a newcomer, it didn't mean a thing to me. I just kept coming to meetings. But it sure means a lot to me now.
