Boots

The muddied boots were a reminder of her worst drunken night. Should she hang on to them?

My boots. Caked in mud and distressed after enduring my unconscious battle to get into my sister and brother in law’s home. I would not realize the details of my blackout until I came to the next day, since the last I remembered I was drinking dark beers at the brewery by myself. But my sister hadn't slept a wink as she tried to prevent me from choking on my vomit. In fact, in my blacked-out state I left a good deal of wreckage behind—a destroyed post and mud marks by the front door, dirtied rugs, toilets and tile floors. Not to mention the worried and concerned faces of my roommates—my sister and brother in law. And on my phone, I discovered countless overfriendly texts and calls to every single one of my exes.
