The Hope I Found
A gentleman gave me a Big Book at no cost. Wow, free stuff! I had no idea what I held in my hand. He suggested I start reading it. “Most importantly,” he said, “don’t drink.”
Alcohol tortured and enslaved me for years. But on June 6, 1988, I was done. I woke and asked God in his great mercy to just take me. Alcohol had quit working for me. Not drinking seemed foreign and unnatural. How was I going to not drink? Was this even possible?
