70 Wonderful Years!
By the early 1950s, AA members and many of our non-alcoholic friends were urging our cofounder Bill W. to prepare a book on the principles of AA and the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions. Soon after, Bill reported to the 1952 Conference that he was working on a book project that included a “new series of anecdotal analyses of the Twelve Traditions” and “a series of orderly, point-by-point essays on the Twelve Steps.” These essays were published in Grapevine in 1952 and 53 and would become our well-known AA book Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions.
