Going all the way
Taking on a six-day hike was a real challenge. But the rewards were breathtaking—just like AA service
Three months ago, I was on the John Muir Trail in Southern California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains, suffering through my first multi-day backpacking trip. I was with three other women, all experienced backpackers, one of whom was a longtime friend of mine from AA. We talked as we walked along the trail, unless the trail was particularly arduous, which it often was.
