In the Shadow of Zion

We love it when visitors to our area find us. This year we expect to have 45 million visitors come to Zion National Park. Hopefully some of them will find us here.

After I recently completed a 35-day program to get sober, I returned home to Utah. A month later, my husband died. I was so desperate for AA. I had one sober friend in our small town of 450. I reached out to him to help me start an AA meeting here in Springdale, a gateway town to Zion National Park. We started small, just the two of us. We posted invitations to “Friends of Bill W.” on bulletin boards around town. We announced our new meeting at other AA meetings in the area, as far as 50 miles away. We called our meeting Springdale Serenity.
