The Junkyard

Around the first week of March 2020 when all AA meetings were shut down because of COVID-19, about five of us AA members here in New Jersey decided to hold our own meeting safely outside—at a junkyard. We called it the Junkyard Group. Every night we held an AA meeting with a big bonfire. Public gatherings were not really allowed in our town at the time. We were afraid the cops might show up and stop us, but we were more concerned with our sobriety.
