Boys don’t cry

A trans member in Florida shares her personal journey of alcoholism and getting outside help

Growing up in Midwestern suburbs, I had a narrow view of the world, as everyone around me were normal, middle-class, church-going people. They  must have been living by a set of rules that I was unaware of. It became obvious at a young age that I didn’t quite fit in anywhere. Although I knew something wasn’t right, I couldn’t put my finger on exactly what “it” was.
