This month Grapevine celebrates the 85th anniversary of our basic text, Alcoholics Anonymous, with wonderful stories by members recalling favorite passages and memories. In the story “Black & Blue & Yellow,” a member goes through her book and marvels at the marks she made over her 50 years of sobriety. Before he got sober, the man in “Stolen Gem” kept his Big Book next to him in his car seat to remind him what life might be like if he stopped drinking. And in “All in the Family,” a woman, now sober, holds dear the Big Books her parents once used. Also included are more memories and a historical timeline of the making of the Big Book.
