Turning Point

At six months sober she left the meeting in a huff. Her plan?
Head straight for the liquor store

I was coming up on six months of sobriety when I went to my noon home group meeting. I was not in a good mood, so the meeting seemed awful. A few members had recently lost loved ones to this disease, and they were sharing about how hard things were for them. I couldn’t handle it. I left the meeting halfway through and drove straight to the liquor store. I bought myself a big bottle of whiskey and headed to my car fully intending to drink some of it before going to work.
