Tradition Twelve reminds him how important anonymity and humility are in all his sober activities

Long before I began developing my qualifications for membership in AA, I was a member of the Boy Scouts. The Scouts tried to teach me to live by a set of principles. A scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. An excellent set of principles—but I just could not practice or live by them.
