Letter from the Editor December 2024
December 2024 | Remote Communities and Sober Holidays | In Every Issue

Letter from the Editor

Each December we love to feature remote community stories. What a better time of year to remember alcoholics who have a difficult time reaching AA. We also include some beautiful sober holiday stories to enjoy. In “A Gift That Lasts,” a newcomer dad, with no money, makes a holiday memory for his sons that won’t be forgotten. In “How I Made It Through the Holidays,” a woman gets through her first sober December with alkathons and the love in the rooms. A woman in a small Alaska village shares how AA committees helped her in “A Place I Call Home.” And an accessibilities committee in Illinois gets together to help bring meetings to homebound and assisted living members in “Need a Meeting? Call Us!”
