Unity=Love

A member shares how we use the tools to keep the group together and how no one is more important than the next

Before coming to my first AA home group, the Here’s H.O.W. group in Carbondale, Illinois, I had never experienced being equal to the people around me. I either felt better or worse. I was really able to see the change when I got to start chairing meetings there. I was so fearful. I felt like I was shouldering the responsibility all alone. But to my surprise I simply followed the format and everyone else’s lead carried me like a wave through those beautiful hours.
