When the writer of “Letting Go” got to AA, she was struggling with the obsession to drink. Even driving to AA meetings was a challenge. Luckily, an oldtimer gave her some  suggestions and asked her about prayer, something she recalled from her childhood. “Give it a shot,” he said. “What do you have to lose?” So she did and it helped a lot. She still uses prayer to this day.
