From Amends to Miracles

Her journey to unexpected joy begins with amends

I was born on August 12, 1954, in a small eastern Montana town. As the saying goes, my parents tried their best, but with 14 children to provide food, shelter, and clothing for, there was little time to take care of our emotional needs. So, as the third oldest, I took on the role of a third “parent” to most of my siblings, at the expense of my own needs not being met. The pattern was set. I became a controller and rescuer, in need of trying to find someone to meet my needs. This was my identity, and over time it contributed to my many addictions.
