In 2018, when I had eight years sober, I found myself in Hawaii, escaping my life. I had been invited by a dear sober friend. I was trying to come to terms with the sudden estrangement of my relationship with my adult daughter. She had removed herself from my life and I was devastated, broken. I had raged, wept, prayed and talked with my sponsor, my husband and my home group.
