Boy, did he luck out. Not only did he get a good sponsor, but two great friends who became his AA family
I had been inside the rooms of AA many times, but always for the wrong reasons. I’d go to convince a parent, girlfriend or judge that I was working on my problem earnestly, but I would only stay long enough to get them off of my back. It wasn’t until my alcoholism brought me to the brink of death that I came into the rooms seriously.
