A member shares about Tradition Nine and how it helped her see the way AA functions in an easier, softer way

So two alcoholics walked out of a bar. They argued over the AA meeting directory furnished by the local Central/Intergroup office, stumbled into their town’s meeting place, where chairs were already arranged. There was a secretary holding the format (having been validated by group conscience), coffee made, literature sent from AA World Services and a basket passed by a treasurer. The meeting was dependably held the same time, same place every day. And everyone was operating voluntarily, with the least possible organizing customs, yet able to meet the needs of newcomers and oldtimers alike.
