A Settled Heart

I don't remember the exact date, but I know it was mid-December 2011. I was drunk and desperate, my husband was irate and I had no idea what to do. I had previously worked as a chemical dependency counselor, had friends and family in AA and NA, and I am very familiar with the program. I knew there would be an AA meeting at 19th and Grand but there was no way I could go there. I used to take the women from the treatment center where I worked years ago to that meeting. What if someone knew me?
