The challenge of rebuilding a fun, active life in early sobriety was tough. But she took action and stuck with it
When I was drinking my world became very small. Whenever I attempted to socialize with people when alcohol wasn’t involved, my lack of hobbies and pleasant topics to discuss were painfully obvious. The shame I felt not being able to fit in led to more isolation and to me consoling myself with more drinking. It was a vicious cycle.
