The Love of Service

A few past and current trustees share their thoughts about serving the Fellowship

Our cofounder Bill W. once wrote in “AA’s Legacy of Service” that “Our Twelfth Step—carrying the message—is the basic service that the AA Fellowship gives; this is our principal aim and the main reason for our existence. Therefore AA is more than a set of principles; it is a society of alcoholics in action.” Such action takes place in our home groups, but it is also the work of our elected delegates and trustees. Below are short conversations with three trustees looking back on the rewards they experienced while doing general service.
