Sharing My “Gratefuls”

The trick is being grateful that you are grateful

Early on in recovery, I don’t remember when exactly (probably sometime in year two or three), I found myself in that emotional state we alcoholics know so well—“restless, irritable, discontent.” Anything and everything was seemingly not right with the world and life. So I did what we are taught to do: I called my sponsor, Ron B. I shared with him all that supposedly wasn’t going as I thought it should go as he patiently listened to my tale of frustrations and not a few resentments.
