With 40 years of sobriety, a member gives a big shout-out to the longtimers who lit the way for his whole family

When I got sober in 1986, AA had only been in our town for about eight or nine years. People with double-digit sobriety were nowhere to be found, except for a guy named Whiskey Bill who, I believed, lived a mountain-man existence somewhere out in the sticks.
