What It’s Worth
How do we decide the amount of money we put in the basket each meeting? One member shares what she does
When I came to AA I was utterly without resource. I had demoralized myself to the point where I hid, ashamed from God in all forms. I was also penniless. Nonetheless, I have always believed in the spiritual truth that what you put into something is proportional to what you can get out of it. So, since I was utterly desperate for meaningful sobriety, I put $1 in the basket when it came around. Let’s say at that time I gave $28 per month.
