Coming Home

After struggling for 30 years on my own, I finally decided that I needed to stop drinking. There had been too many close calls, too many broken promises to myself. I had an overwhelming sense that I had to quit immediately, before it was too late. While I knew about AA, I had never been to any meetings. But now I was desperate, and vowed I would do anything they told me to do, even if I hated it.
