Sober in Iran

She drank where blackouts weren’t the worst things to fear.
Now she dedicates her life to helping others back home

It was right after Iran’s revolution and at the beginning of the eight-year war between Iran and Iraq when I was born. Iran is an Islamic country, and it has strict religious laws. Drinking alcohol is completely illegal. If you are caught with alcohol or are drunk in public, you will be jailed, fined and whipped.
